About Denby

Denby first started producing porcelain and stoneware at the turn of the 19th Century, when William Bourne took advantage of a seam of clay that was discovered in the Derbyshire town of Denby. He established a pottery in the area, which was run by his son Joseph, and the company start by producing bottles and jars before moving on to add dinnerware items like plates and bowls.

The Heritage Orchard collection

Today, their range has expanded even further and includes high quality cast iron, stainless steel, and even silicone products, but the Heritage collections are traditional in their design and their use of vitrified, stoneware clay.

The vitrification process gives the stoneware a glossy finish, and it also helps to give the items strength and durability.
