Description:The following advice is designed to help you ensure that your new Royal Worcester retains the beauty you see today.
Scratching / Safe Storage The glaze is relatively hard and resists most cutlery scratches but materials of equal hardness will scratch on one another. Just as one diamond can scratch another, so your Royal Worcester pieces can mark each other. When plates are stacked together, the back of one item can scratch the front of the plate below. Therefore, using paper or tissue between them is recommended. To avoid scratching, do not slide the plates over one another - whether wet or dry, always lift them. Cups should be stored rim down. Do not stack them as this can weaken the handles. Washing by hand For best results, always use a liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive washing powders or harsh scourers as gold and platinum decoration is easily damaged. Microwaves and Ovens Fine bone china tableware is not suitable for cooking purposes, however plates can be pre-heated if put in a cold oven and warmed gently. Tableware designs with gold or platinum decoration must not be used in a microwave oven as this can damage both the ware and the microwave.
